As a Canadian, other Canadians get fucking big mad when I suggest that the best way for Canada to fight climate change is not to reduce our own emissions, but to help India get away from coal.
I think something like 50% of carbon emissions on Earth are from burning coal in countries other than the US.
If the US quadrupled its natural gas output (which it could with the right incentives), we could export over three quarters of it and transition the world from coal to natural gas.
Since gas produces half the emissions of coal, we just reduced global emissions by 25% and made the US wealthy beyond reason.
Okay, If China and the US did not exist, We could almost cut CO2 exhaust in 2
They are responsible for a little less than 50% of the worlds exhaust
And it makes me kinda sad When you live in a small country and people keep babbling about the enviroment When your countries entire carbon footprint could be eliminated by the US or China releasing 1% less
This administration really is selling this country to China. It feels inevitable.
These countries ironically enough have more government intervention in commerce than the U.S does.
Showing percentage growth makes no sense, without considering the baseline. The percapita emissions are much lower for china and india compared to US/ Europe. Granted, that doesn't imply that these countries can increase emissions as much as they like, but developed nations should support these developing ones to transition to greener source and developed world must also transition to greener source to do its part. Just comparing percentages without taking in to baseline and per capita is just propaganda.
Yes 400 million people vs 1.5 billion and 1.3 billion and the 1.3 billion still has less carbon footprint than the US.
Just what happens when you outsource all your labor to China and India
Can you complain about Chinese emissions when everything you own is made there?
I don't buy shit from China. If it's from there I go without
What phone/computer did you post this from?
Most of the USA factories are based in China.
I love how Americans conveniently forget that much of the manufacturing in China that contributes to that pollution is to make the shit you have in your house.
We would have been better off without it.
Everyone being able to afford their own everything as definitely f***** with the social structure in communities.
Why such animosity?
Are we the only ones who buy Chinese goods and complain about China?
The animosity was in the meme. I have no animosity. I’m American, buying Chinese goods, but facts don’t hurt my feelings.
